Joe got me thinking about Pizza with his last post about Wolfgang pucks pizza and that amazing picture he took. After 3 days of being trapped inside we decided to make a run for it and visit or local Hideaway Pizza location. Shae and I love the Paradise Pie. Pizza with bacon on it, done right, is amazing and Hideaway does it right. They also feature many other pizzas with bacon on them so sound great. Next time we are going to hit the contest menu, which includes a few customer inspired pizzas.

From the Hideaway website the Paradise Pie is described as follows

Paradise Pie

This isn’t Heaven, but it’s as close as we could get with a pizza pie. Hideaway Alfredo sauce covered with a blend of mozzarella and smoked provolone cheeses, grilled chicken breast strips, smoked bacon, fresh sliced mushrooms, fresh spinach and diced Roma tomatoes. Yummmmmm.

I got a new food processor for Christmas and it’s amazing! One of the features I’m getting to know is the dough setting. I decided to try it out this morning with some breakfast pizzas. After making the pizza dough I rolled out some small six inch circles, sprinkled them with slices of bacon cooked that first for ten minutes. Then came the egg, I suggest using medium eggs for this food adventure the large one got a little messy. Salt, pepper some olive oil and five more minutes of cooking created this awesome breakfast treat!

Tulsa-based Mazzio’s Italian Eatery is bringing back Ken’s Original Thin and Crispy Pizza in February and March to continue its 50th anniversary celebration.

Mazzio’s founder Ken Selby opened his first pizza restaurant, The Pizza Parlor, on Nov. 11, 1961, across from The University of Tulsa campus. Ken’s original recipe captured many hearts with its crispy crust and spicy sauce.

Now, that same memorable pizza is back for a limited time during February and March. Most Mazzio’s locations will offer Ken’s 15-inch, extra large one-topping pizza for $10.50 or the five-topping supreme for $13.50.

“We’re taking customers back to where it all started, with Ken’s original pizza,” said Greg Lippert, president and CEO of Mazzio’s LLC. “The original spicy sauce and crispy crust makes it an all-time favorite, and we knew we had to make it part of our 50th celebration.”
