Having lived in Chicago for years, we tend to get that craving for REAL Chicago pizza every so often. The 'Chicago Pizza' places here in Tulsa may be 'inspired' by Chicago pizza but they're not really close. Luckily, we can order from Lou Malnatis and bring that AWESOME taste home.

At first, it might seem a little expensive, but if you order four pizzas and figure what it would cost to order the same at a restaurant, it's actually pretty close; comes to about $20 per pizza which easily feeds 2 - 4 people. Split that cost between 2, and it's only $10 per person for authentic, great pizza. Mmmmm. We tend to order the pizzas in time for the football playoffs (yes, it sort of makes watching Da Bears lose...again... a bit easier.) We did the big Taste of Chicago package and loved it as well. These pizzas are the real deal too. If you can't do a trip to Chicago and you want genuine Chicago Pizza, do yourself a favor and try Lou Malnatis. You'll love it.

If you like Chicago pizza or other chicago specialties there is a website: http://www.tastesofchicago.com/ Here you can get Lou Malnati's Pizza, Garrett's Popcorn, Eli's Cheesecakes, Carol's cookies, Manny's Deli (not NY but good) and even Vienna Beef or Portillo's hot dogs...Yes the shipping is very expensive...But it makes a great treat and since my husband is from Chicago we really miss these things sometimes. Might want to try this for a party one Sunday afternoon while watching the Bears lose? May make you feel better.

I will have to give Savastano's a try...but I do miss Chicago foods!

If it's amazing Chicago-style pizza you're after, there's no need to cook it yourself or pay outrageous shipping fees... Just go to Savastano's Pizzeria at 105th and Memorial, in front of the Spirit Bank Event Center. I have had Giordano's on a visit to Chicago. It is amazing pizza, but I can say Savastano's has very successfully duplicated the same style of pizza right here in Bixby/South Tulsa.

Wow! You had better LOVE the Chicago Pizza when the shipping cost more than the pizza itself. Looks good, but no thank you.
