I was invited along with other fanily to celebrate my Dad's 84th birthday. After reading the reviews from this site and others I was very aprehensive about what to expect. It is true that even with a reservation (at least for the Hibatchi grill) you're not seated till all your party is present. That seems completely reasonable to me since your food is prepared in front of you while you are seated around the grill. The chef who prepared our food gave a wonderful show along with making us one delicious dinner. You get plenty to eat; and if you go away hungary it's definitely your fault. The waitress and chef were very nice. My husband and I will definitely go back; and will consider this restaurant as somewhere to take our out of town guests for a special treat. The cost may be a little more than what other restaurants may charge; but is not at all out of line for the amount of delicious food you get and the show you get with the chef's antics in preparing it. All in all very, very enjoyable. A good time, good food and nice staff for sure. Would suggest an earlier reservation; and that everybody be on time. They are a very busy restaurant; and rightly so---they have earned it. Bon Appetit!

Other than a southside Mexican place that didn't last long at all, Osaka is currently the reigning champion for places I've received the absolute worst service. If you make "reservations" it appears there is no seating at that time...it simply means you get there at the prescribed time and are given a pager. Huh, how is that any different than just showing up? Our party, who had set plans after had to wait an hour past our supposed "reservations" time. Someone else obviously complained about the seating as well, because they (complainer) came in after us, and was shuttled to a table ahead of the others. After lodging complaints to several people and being ignored, my friend attempted to find the manager. One of the waiters refused to find the manager. Really. We would have left if we had other options on a Sat night for a party of 10. The food wasn't bad, the chef was just OK. The waitress, once we finally got seated, was in over her head. Non-hibachi food came out wrong, or not at all (until a complaint was lodged). I would highly recommend that if you have a party of more than 2 or 3, you skip this place and go elsewhere. Aside from the lack of caring from the staff, there are plenty of other places which serve steak and seafood which is just plain better.

I have eaten at this location three times and will never go back. The service was terrible every time. I ordered a drink from the bar when I first sat down at the table and it took so long to get the chef had begun cooking before it was served. The food was ok, but not good enough to make me want to go again. There are other, much better hibachi restaurants in Tulsa.

My family and I have been dining at Osaka since my girls were 5. I would say that they have enjoyed it from the start. They first bring us hand towels to clean our hands and at that point we knew that this was a very sanitary establishment. Next they brought us out fabulous mushroom soup, which I know sounds strange, but is very delightful. After the soup, they bring you the best salad you will ever have. The dressing is like nothing you have ever tried before. After the soup and wonderful salad your show begins by making their famous fried rice with eggs, steamed carrots, and peas and of course soy sauce, The best soy sauce EVER! I myself would DEFIENTLY recommend the wonderful shrimp. They season it with herbs and fresh lemon. It is probably the best shrimp your taste buds will ever experience. Expect to pay around $100 for a family of 4, it may be a little pricey but for this kind of food, entertainment, and Japanese education, it is a tremendous value.

Went there for a birthday party and gave them the birthday girl's cake to put in the fridge. This was just not any cake, this was the specific cake that we had made for her birthday. We told them exactly which party we are with and how many people we were with. They said they'd take care of it. Not to worry. Well, while we are ordering our food, the waiters are singing the birthday BOY next to us happy birthday. All the sudden, here they bring out OUR CAKE, with OUR lit candles and everything. Thank god the birthday girl was not paying attention. One of us walk up to the waiter and tells them, that they have just given our cake to the wrong table and here they are, all 5 of them confused and blaming eachother. We had just gotten there and gave them our cake so what made them think it was time to hand out the cake already, before eating? To make things worse, while they are all arguing, the table with our cake decides to cut the cake and pass it out. I am left there with horror knowing these dumb people are eating a cake they had thought that Osaka complimentary gave to them. 30 minutes later, they come up and quietly say they are going to run and get us another one. BUT WE HAD THIS ONE SPECIALLY MADE. To not ruin the birthday girl's day, (who by the way, had already saw the cake we had made for her) we told the waiter that that was not going to be okay but that any cake will do at this point. After the boring hibachi show, we get all our plates cleared and here we are stuck waiting. We had told the management to get the cake ready 15 minutes ago and we figured they were taking a while since they had to light the candles. Another 20 minutes pass while we all awkwardly stare at eachother and wonder why it's taking so long. THEN, the big moment comes. Here comes the cake with no candles and we are all left singing her happy birthday with no candles to blow out. Of course we make a joke out of it but the birthday girl is clearly a little upset after we told her what had happened. I think, surely Osaka will comp but SOMETHING since they had given away our expensive cake and ruined her "big blowing our your candles moment". We look at our bill and they have generously added a 20% tip to the ticket. We are shocked! No one apologizes. Everyone was too embarassed after giving us their walmart cake they just bought to come by and even ask us how our meal was. Of course, we pay and don't cause a commotion. All of us leaving with a distaste, un settling feeling in our stomachs. The birthday girl calls the owner after we leave to explain the situation about the expensive cake and unprofessional staff. He simply replys that they don't handle cakes at Osaka and that we should of just kept the cake at the table the whole time. Well the cake had to be refridgerated! How can you expect us to keep a cake with us when our reservation was at 7 and you couldnt seat us until 8! Ridiculous owners, unprofessional staff, and boring hibachi show. Will never ever go back and will never recommend to anyone. Save your money and get some real sushi at Asahi! They are opening up a location on memorial that has habachi and sushi. Seriously, don't waste your money. There are plently of places in Tulsa were its cheaper, better service, and better food.

I went to Osaka after reading this post, Had 830 reservations, we were rushed by the wait staff, they got the orders all wrong and the 2 of us who ate the habachi shrimp got horrible food poisoning, I was at Southcrest getting IV fluids the next day. I will NEVER go back, it is a shame because it is a nice looking place.

Yes, our waiter was terrible. The food was delicious, but I was seated directly in front of the AC, so I was shivering all night. It was kind of ridiculous, it wasn't just near the AC, the air was blowing directly on me, but no one else.

Our chef was a lot of fun, but he did end up throwing a shrimp tail at a table near by and the lady whose plate it landed in was rather upset about it.

I pass by it almost everyday, from what I can tell on Friday and Saturdays they are packed from about 6-close. But if you want to try on a weekday before 7, you'd have less of a wait. Just an FYI, it was PACKED on the Friday I went.

I first saw your food blog several weeks ago and I thought, she should be writing here! So I'm glad you are. Good job! And then there's your other blog, which taught me what to do if I'm attacked by 1000 zombies. One day I hope to read your latest novel, about Jenny Bellhooks, but I am scared what it might teach me.
