Fresh Market Opens first Oklahoma Location in Tulsa

The northeast corner of 81st and Yale will never be the same. That’s because the new Fresh Market is packing out the parking lot with anxious shoppers of this first in Oklahoma location.

Fresh Market provides a unique grocery shopping experience that might seem similar to Whole Foods although its quite different… as it should be since a new Whole Foods location is opening next year at 91st and Yale. The Fresh Market website describes their stores to be, “designed to evoke old-world charm with a warm and inviting atmosphere, classical music, soft lighting, delightful aromas and superior customer service.” What I saw was fresh produce, take-n-bake meals, endless ready to eat sides, cheeses, a beautiful meat selection with ready to grill or bake creations and lots of candy. Don’t let my short description sell the concept short, the store is different enough to check out for yourself.

One element of this store that stood out to me was the smell factor. As I walked through the store I would catch whiffs of produce, precooked meals, cheeses and other goodies. As I walked to the middle I noticed a crowd of people gathering, they were sampling foods from a huge display case like this one…

The store only has about three typical aisles that you would find in a regular grocery store. The setup was very open and warm with low lighting and old fashioned looking fixtures.

I should have gotten a few pictures of the candy section, it was bigger then any I have ever seen. You have to go for yourself to see it.
