Tulsa State Fair is Kicking off with More Crazy Foods!

Tulsa State Fair Kicks off TODAY!

If you are a fair food junky like me you will be getting high on fried foods at the Tulsa State Fair. Yes folks, this is that once a year time where diets and standards of health should be thrown out the window. So join me in making a personal fair food menu for this years edition of fried food glutton.

The Krispy Kreme Hamburger, first off, was surprisingly delicious.  I never expected the saltiness of the beef and melted cheese to counteract and compliment the two full-size Krispy Kreme doughnuts used as buns.  The lettuce and tomato didn’t add any individual flavors and actually helped to tone down the shock that you would expect to initially receive when biting into this special burger.  A few things that shouldn’t have been on this burger were onions and pickles, maybe grilled onions would have been okay.  Other notes, cheese is a must, and I should have got bacon because with every bite I took I imagined it with bacon and thought how much better it would have been if I had paid the extra dollar.

New on the menu this year:

  • Fried Watermelon
  • Fried Bubble Gum
  • Pink Dessert Tamale
  • Fried Ice Cream Sandwich
  • Chocolate Dipped Corndog
  • Pumpkin Spice Balls on a Stick
  • Banana Nutella Deep Fried Crepe
  • Chocolate Dipped Cookie Dough on a Stick
  • Sunshine Burger: bacon, egg & cheese burger
  • PBJ Burger: peanut butter, bacon & jalapeno burger
  • Zoo Bar: vanilla ice cream surrounded by red velvet cake & dipped in Belgian chocolate
  • Goo Bar: vanilla ice cream surrounded by a chewy chocolate brownie & dipped in Belgian chocolate
  • Foo Bar: chocolate ice cream surrounded by chocolate devil’s food cake & dipped in Belgian chocolate
