The $17 whole chicken deal at Hibiscus
You can find some nice Jamaican food at Hibiscus on Brookside. Bring a party of 3 or 4 and each person can get a meat entree for between $10 and $19. A quarter of a chicken, for example, for $10. Or you can feed everyone for $17 by ordering this.
Yes, it’s a whole chicken for $17, and includes two sides. We ordered “rice ‘n beans” and fried plantains. It’s traditional Jamaican jerk chicken, rubbed with spices and grilled, with an untraditional gravy (sometimes made with pepper, last night made mostly with barbecue sauce) on top. The chicken was moist and tender with the tang of the grill and the spice rub. A great bargain meal.
