Barbequed Chicken Quesadilla – Today’s Special at The Boston Deli

The Boston Deli has a interesting weekly menu featuring chalkboard specials for each day of the week. You can sign up to get the menu here via email. Each day include a variety of outright delicious and mostly innovative twists on normal dishes. Today you can order the Barbequed Chicken Quesadilla pictured below (got mine to go), sounds pretty normal right? It is far from it. With cilantro, red onion, smoked Gouda (and a few other cheeses), mushroom and a chili buttermilk drizzle this large quesadilla is packed with cheesy, gooey flavors and it will fill you up!

Today I grabbed an early lunch to go from The Boston Deli and it did not disappoint. Oh yeah and when they say Barbequed at The Boston Deli that really means smoked on a hasty-Bake Charcoal Oven. You can taste the difference… Boston Deli is the only restaurant in town that you will find something like this.

Brie with Ginger Chutney Sandwich at LuLu’s Cafe

Its called the Genevieve and its really good! The Ginger chutney is very strong and at first overpowering but then the Brie comes in and makes up for it, balancing out the whole sandwich. This interestingly tasty sandwich can be found at Lulu’s Bake Shoppe & Cafe and comes with a few sides. I recommend the potato salad it’s creamy and has some great flavors.

The dining culture in Tulsa is becoming prevalent, fast. It seems like every week you could drive around town and find something new. I found a few new locations being renovated in South Tulsa yesterday. One of those new, coming soon, restaurants is Ridge Grill. We were told that Ridge Grill is a family owned Italian restaurant that will open in South Tulsa at about 9999 South Mingo Road next to Senor Tequila.

Let us now in the comments below if you hear any new information on Ridge Grill.

Quick Lunch at Panera Bread Equaled Tasty New Thai Chicken Salad

It was a day full of meetings and there were no signs of a lunch for me…. until I found an opportunity when showing up to a afternoon meeting at Panera Bread a little early.

Below is the Thai Chopped Chicken Salad (description also below). Overall, I was surprised at how good it was. I love a good peanut dressing, with peanuts and cilantro and this salad creation by Panera was a great mixture of these things. I was really impressed with its freshness and the many layers of flavor that I could distinguish. Normally when I have meetings at Panera, I grab a cup of coffee which is very standard and if you value espresso don’t even think about ordering it here. Nonetheless, it was nice to find that they had something really tasty and refreshing.

    A New Twist on Thai.

Sometimes really great food can take you on a journey. With just one bite of our new Thai Chopped Chicken Salad, you’re halfway across the world. It’s layered with tender, all-natural chicken, Thai spiced cashews and fire-roasted vegetables, with hints of lime and cilantro. Tossed in our Thai Chili Vinaigrette and finished with a peanut sauce, it’s like heading to Thailand for lunch, without the passport.

Feeding my Hamburger Emptiness with a BrewBurger

Shame on me, It was over two weeks since my last hamburger! But I took care that with 2 medium rare patties, melted cheddar and some grilled onions on a ciabatta bun. Not only does it sound like a good combination, it was perfected at BrewBurger and every bite melted in my mouth. I have been set free of this grief from a 2 week long separation, I can live again.

14 Minutes to Wing Run Bliss

Earlier today Tulsa Food Guy posted about wings that he loves. Which got me craving wings that I love…. Wing Run Cafe on 81st and Sheridan. Now I understand that some people don’t consider “boneless” wings… real man wings but dang I crave these wings all the time and they have been my favorite in Tulsa for years now. I do love a good bone in Wing and agree that Hooters does bring it. I often wonder where I can find the BEST local boned-in wings in Tulsa. Any ideas?

Here is a picture of the babies that i love so much!

I love how when you call in they always say that they will be ready in 14 minutes.

True, boneless wings aren’t Manly, but the boned in wings at Wing Run are tasty. If you’re going for a “true” buffalo wing I think Right Wing has the best in town. Wing Run is the most unique. But I’ll always take Hooters over everything else because I like the breaded style. If you’re going for the ultra-hot though, Wing Stop (which is also a chain) and Wings To Go probably bring the best heat. BWW has their blazin’ wings, but IMO only has atmosphere to compete with the heat you can get elsewhere.

But if you like a little heat but don’t care about the sauce… Potbellies and Crawpappies have great wings… just don’t go if you expect to take a kid in there.

I’d love to find some fantastic hot wings in town I haven’t tried… though I doubt that’s possible, I’ll keep an eye on this discussion.

Choc’s Winter Ale at the Bistro At Seville – South Tulsa

One of my favorite things about Choc Beer is their variety of seasonal beers. Today, with a friend, we enjoyed Choc’s Winter Ale at The Bistro at Seville in South Tulsa on Yale. The Winter Ale is a delicious full-bodied beer that tastes like winter in a glass to me.

Lost & Then Found at Hideway Pizza with a Tulsa Hurricane Pizza

Sometimes I find myself driving around town almost lost not knowing where to eat. Sometimes I just default to about a handful of 10 places depending on which side of town I am on. This day I was with a buddy that was feeling pizza so we hit up Hideaway Pizza.

There is no going wrong by ordering the “Tulsa Hurricane” Pizza…. It has all my favorites!

The off menu description: Much bigger than any tornado; this is a swirling phenomenon of sweet and spicy flavors. Hideaway Red sauce covered with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, Canadian bacon, smoked bacon, diced green bell peppers, pineapple and jalapenos. Big Bob loves this pie with Hideaway BBQ sauce!
