    Shanghai Soup Dumplings – Reader Question! Can You Help? 

    I was watching an episode of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and they were in Shanghai at a restaurant eating these wonderful looking soup-filled dumplings…. I was curious if

    A. Knows what I’m talking about?
    B. Can I get them in Tulsa?

      You’re talking about 小笼馒头, Xiao Long Mantou, which most people in the U.S. call Xiao Long Bao. I don’t know anywhere in Tulsa that has them.

      You can buy them frozen at Asian Mart and Nam Hai to steam at home. Not the same thing as fresh, but better than nothing.

      Thank you… I will have to try the frozen ones… would like my first experience with them to be fresh but if thats all i got to choose from lol.

    Chicka Chicka Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe 

    One thing I love about making soup is that it always ends up being special.  I will never forget the story that one of my elementary teachers told me about Stone Soup.  As you may know, the story is about a soup that started off with simply water and stones and as people passed by the maker of the soup to see what he is doing, each person ended up adding a special ingredient of their own until the soup became a community production.
