For Real Mexican Shrimp Cocktail at Compadres

For real, Compadres Mexican Grill serves up a dang good Mexican shrimp cocktail. This is just how I like it, chunks of avocado, lime, saltine crackers with some Tapatio on top. Mexican Shrimp Cocktail and a cold cerveza is often what floats through my head on a nice Friday afternoon.

We just got back from a Cooking With Beer Class at the Stock Pot with Chef: Amanda Simcoe. What a great way to celebrate October.

To give you an idea of how cool and delicious this class was here is a little copy from the website explaining the event.

“Chef Amanda Simcoe will start with a Spinach, Strawberry & Chevre salad with Balsamic & O’Hara’s Stout Reduction, followed by Chipotle-Ale battered Coconut Shrimp with Passion fruit Sauce. Then move on to Roast Leg of Lamb & Mashed Potatoes with Guinness Gravy. For a sweet ending there’s homemade Oktoberfest Ice Cream with Malt Syrup. Before you raise your stein this October, come learn some great recipes to make and serve with your favorite beers!”

Ok, oops… I did not know that Bonefish Grill was not open for lunch in Tulsa. We ended up going to Copeland’s of New Orleans. I got the Eggplant Pirogue, it didn’t look anything like the picture, but It was pretty good…I really want to go back to try many of their other dishes, hopefully the food will look better.

That’s too funny! I’ve heard from multiple people how great those Bang Bang Shrimp are. Also heard they have a Kobe burger.
