If you are staying at home tonight here is a great last minute idea for Valentines Day. And guys lets not forget that ideas like this will win you a ton of brownie points on any night.
These where made from homemade dough; however, you can also buy and reshape the Pillsbury dough from the store to get the same effect.

Joe got me thinking about Pizza with his last post about Wolfgang pucks pizza and that amazing picture he took. After 3 days of being trapped inside we decided to make a run for it and visit or local Hideaway Pizza location. Shae and I love the Paradise Pie. Pizza with bacon on it, done right, is amazing and Hideaway does it right. They also feature many other pizzas with bacon on them so sound great. Next time we are going to hit the contest menu, which includes a few customer inspired pizzas.
From the Hideaway website the Paradise Pie is described as follows
Paradise Pie
This isn’t Heaven, but it’s as close as we could get with a pizza pie. Hideaway Alfredo sauce covered with a blend of mozzarella and smoked provolone cheeses, grilled chicken breast strips, smoked bacon, fresh sliced mushrooms, fresh spinach and diced Roma tomatoes. Yummmmmm.

Here are a few recent updates from Hideaway via Twitter. If you where wondering about openings and delivery during this crazy snow!!! More updates at twitter.com/hideawaypizza

I 100% agree with you on this one. It’s our only choice for pizza. Gotta have some fried mushrooms on the side!
I have my home made pizza dough rising right now.
What about Pie Hole? Read this, it will make you hungry!!

I got a new food processor for Christmas and it’s amazing! One of the features I’m getting to know is the dough setting. I decided to try it out this morning with some breakfast pizzas. After making the pizza dough I rolled out some small six inch circles, sprinkled them with slices of bacon cooked that first for ten minutes. Then came the egg, I suggest using medium eggs for this food adventure the large one got a little messy. Salt, pepper some olive oil and five more minutes of cooking created this awesome breakfast treat!
Gawd, I love this idea!
These look delicious! Im going to have to make them soon!
Tulsa-based Mazzio’s Italian Eatery is bringing back Ken’s Original Thin and Crispy Pizza in February and March to continue its 50th anniversary celebration.
Mazzio’s founder Ken Selby opened his first pizza restaurant, The Pizza Parlor, on Nov. 11, 1961, across from The University of Tulsa campus. Ken’s original recipe captured many hearts with its crispy crust and spicy sauce.

Now, that same memorable pizza is back for a limited time during February and March. Most Mazzio’s locations will offer Ken’s 15-inch, extra large one-topping pizza for $10.50 or the five-topping supreme for $13.50.

“We’re taking customers back to where it all started, with Ken’s original pizza,” said Greg Lippert, president and CEO of Mazzio’s LLC. “The original spicy sauce and crispy crust makes it an all-time favorite, and we knew we had to make it part of our 50th celebration.”
This is what an 18 inch grinder from Bellacino’s Pizza & Grinders looks like when you order it to and open it up at home! This warm sandwich is one of my favorites in town. The Chicago Steak and Cheese Grinder. Thin sliced steak, onions, fresh mushrooms on the sub roll coated with their special garlic spread. Then covered in cheese and baked in the pizza oven.
Check out the second picture below for a better picture of a 9 incher!

Here is a better picture of a normal grinder.

The Zuits are a local Tulsa swing, jazz, funk, and Latin band comprised of ten members that will be playing tonight (Friday Jan 14th) at Joe Momma’s Pizza in Downtown Tulsa. Joe Momma’s always hosts local bands!
Check out The Zuits tonight and enjoy some super amazing cheesy bread and beer!

Gemma’s Woodfire Kitchen opened in the space left by the late lamented Caramel Bakery. They offer pizza, grilled meat, and, since Steven Howard, the creator of KoKoa, is in the kitchen, great desserts.

I had lunch there last Thursday and the food and service
was great. I had the homemade Carrot soup, to die for, and a small
Shrimp and Cabbage pizza. Very different, great sauce, very good. I
can’t wait to go again.
It is SO delicious. I had the roasted chicken and goat cheese salad and a fig and chicken pizza. My husband had salmon with curry cream sauce which was also amazing. Such a fun new place!
I just ate a fabulous dinner at Gemma’s. Linguini with scallops, shrimp, squid, mussels, crab legs, fish and pancetta in a tangy lobster broth ($18).
Open for lunch and dinner Tues through Sat.

Sometimes I find myself driving around town almost lost not knowing where to eat. Sometimes I just default to about a handful of 10 places depending on which side of town I am on. This day I was with a buddy that was feeling pizza so we hit up Hideaway Pizza.
There is no going wrong by ordering the “Tulsa Hurricane” Pizza…. It has all my favorites!

The off menu description: Much bigger than any tornado; this is a swirling phenomenon of sweet and spicy flavors. Hideaway Red sauce covered with a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, Canadian bacon, smoked bacon, diced green bell peppers, pineapple and jalapenos. Big Bob loves this pie with Hideaway BBQ sauce!

Jalapeno garlic pizza redo! this is one way I REDO my leftover pizza. Add a crap load of Jalapenos and minced garlic and then pop it in the toaster over. I keep a huge jar of both Jalapenos and minced garlic in the fridge. So good! This leftover pizza was from Sam’s Club!
This week Pizza Hut will start offering $10 pizzas … is this really big news? I remember in college getting Papa John’s for like 7 bucks and Mazzio’s offers about a 10 dollar pizza. Nonetheless do you like Pizza Hut?

Joe Mamma’s!!!! Maybe Gemma’s Woodfire second. Now I have to try Hey Mambo after reading some of these comments. Favorite pizza? Cellinis in Sacile, Italy. Sitting on the river on a warm summer evening enjoying wood fire pizza and a cold beer. Beam me up Scotty

Oh you are so right about Gemma’s! I just forgot to mention it. Are you in the Air Force?
Christine 12:26 pm on February 26, 2011 Permalink |
Used to be, well the husband was. Lived in Turkey, England and Italy for 8 years after 4 in Northern California, great assignments, incredible food! Nice to see that Tulsa has some good food and seem to be “foodies”. Love, love the fig and chicken pizza at Gemma’s, wouldn’t have seen that mixture in Italy but still nice oven and good crust.

Minuteman Pizza near 51st & Hwy 97
Debbie 1:55 pm on February 28, 2011 Permalink |
Yes, yes, yes!!! The Minuteman Pizza Parlor, on 41st Street just West of Highway 97! It is sooooo excellent, it has a one-of-a-kind taste — it takes just a teensy bit longer than most places, but that’s because they’re making them in a real oven, turning the pies and popping the bubbles to make it come out perfect!

Wow, no love yet for Uncle Vinny’s. Sad.
For NY Style, Uncle Vinny’s. Also love the thin crust Chicago Style at Savastano’s (love the traditional Chicago style too). And Joe Momma’s is tough to beat for originality… Queue the Rocky music set to TFG training for Incinerator Challenge montage.

Mike, I like that list, but haven’t been to Mario’s in a long time (and that was the BA one), and haven’t been to Hey Mambo. My list would be similar except Hey Mambo wouldn’t be on there (again because I haven’t been… yet) and Uncle Vinny’s would bump everything else back a slot. Though I love Savastano’s thin crust so i might be inclined to move them up.
