    Dream Pizza…

My question for you starry-eyed readers, Is what would go on your dream pizza?
And if you say gummy bears, I’ll be very disappointed…
I have eaten A TON of pizza in my life, as my gut proudly displays, and if I had to choose my toppings, I would simply say: “As much meat and cheese as will possibly fit into a pie. And make sure its from Gino’s East.”
So, it is now your responsibility, To bring your thoughts and comments to the light of Tulsa Food. Godspeed!

      1) Home made including dough. Come on people, making dough is crazy easy.
      2) Pie Hole (largely due to proximity, in my neighborhood)
      3) Tucci’s
      4) Mario’s
      5) Hideaway
      6) Umbertos

True Brian, but I’ve only had a slice. Need to get the whole pie and re-rank.

Joe Mamma’s!!!! Maybe Gemma’s Woodfire second. Now I have to try Hey Mambo after reading some of these comments. Favorite pizza? Cellinis in Sacile, Italy. Sitting on the river on a warm summer evening enjoying wood fire pizza and a cold beer. Beam me up Scotty :)

Oh you are so right about Gemma’s! I just forgot to mention it. Are you in the Air Force?

Used to be, well the husband was. Lived in Turkey, England and Italy for 8 years after 4 in Northern California, great assignments, incredible food! Nice to see that Tulsa has some good food and seem to be “foodies”. Love, love the fig and chicken pizza at Gemma’s, wouldn’t have seen that mixture in Italy but still nice oven and good crust.

      Minuteman Pizza near 51st & Hwy 97

      • Debbie 1:55 pm on February 28, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yes, yes, yes!!! The Minuteman Pizza Parlor, on 41st Street just West of Highway 97! It is sooooo excellent, it has a one-of-a-kind taste — it takes just a teensy bit longer than most places, but that’s because they’re making them in a real oven, turning the pies and popping the bubbles to make it come out perfect!

Wow, no love yet for Uncle Vinny’s. Sad.

For NY Style, Uncle Vinny’s. Also love the thin crust Chicago Style at Savastano’s (love the traditional Chicago style too). And Joe Momma’s is tough to beat for originality… Queue the Rocky music set to TFG training for Incinerator Challenge montage.

Hey, shout out for Uncle Vinny’s! We like them too!

In any order: Joe Mama’s, La Roma, Savastano’s, Hey Mambo, Pie Hole (not by the slice – get the whole pie).

      1. Umberto’s
      2. Mario’s
      3. Pie Hole
      4. Hey Mambo
      5. Savastano’s

Mike, I like that list, but haven’t been to Mario’s in a long time (and that was the BA one), and haven’t been to Hey Mambo. My list would be similar except Hey Mambo wouldn’t be on there (again because I haven’t been… yet) and Uncle Vinny’s would bump everything else back a slot. Though I love Savastano’s thin crust so i might be inclined to move them up.

Read her post last week. Interested that he is neapolitan certified or something like that. Owasso is a bit of a drive but her review has put it on the spring break week list.
