I know I just posted a blog about wings, but writing about Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant made me think about the real king of wings and that is Wing Run at 7996 S Sheridan Rd in Tulsa. All I can say is go try it for yourself and you will understand. My favorites are the boneless BBQ with a side of homemade Cesar dressing (pictured below), boned in lemon pepper, boned in regular wing sauce, and the french fries. The ribs are also amazing and some of the best I have had so far in Tulsa.
If you think you know a place better then Wing Run please post it in the comment area below we are up to the challenge.

Wing Run Freanch Fries are hand cut with a special mix of salt, seasonings and sugar. ADDICTIVE!!!

I have yet to find a place better than Wing Run in Tulsa. They also have some of the best ranch I ever had. I mean who can resist a Wing Run basket of boneless hot wings, french fries all topped off with ranch. I have yet to meet that person.

We live a mile and a half from Wing Run, so we usually buy from them: Garlic-Parmesan bone-in and ask they be over-cooked one minute. Good stuff! But, our favorite is Wings-to-Go at 9663 S. Riverside. Longer drive & more gas, but worth it.

I haven’t tried Wing Run but Wings-to-go on Riverside is my favorite so far. Im from Alabama so finding a really good wings place is important.

We frequent the Wing Run and it does in a pinch, but if you want the best in Tulsa you have to go down to 11th street and eat at the Right Wing. Pat is an old New York boy and his recipe is second to none (not just in Tulsa but anywhere). If you consider yourself a wing aficionado then the Right Wing is the place to go.

The RIGHT WING is by far a better choice and less drama trying to order. Last time I was in Wing Run, there was an older lady trying to order and it was obvious it was her first time in. The gal at the corner for irritated and got so rude with the lady plus I could hear her tell the cook the lady was a dumbA……I thought I hope that lady doesn’t hear her but then again I did so I go elsewhere now….kind of was a sad deal to hear. The staff there needs to take a chill pill and to relax. I go to Right Wing- it’s less drama all the way around and worth the extra few miles….

Wing Run has the most unique wings. The hottest ones that I forget what they call them aren’t all that hot, but have a lot of black pepper. The secret to this place that I discovered the last time I was there was their cheese fries. Holy Crap! I could’ve eaten those all day… and then the next day… and the next. The problem with this place is that unless you live nearby there, 81st and Sheridan as about as far from any quick way to getting there as you can get in Tulsa. But still it’s worth it for the cheese fries and a unique buffalo wing.
If it’s straight up old school buffalo wings you’re going for though, like others said, Right Wing is the place to go. B-Dubs, Wings-To-Go and Wing Stop are all pretty similar, but Right Wing is where you wanna go. Then go down to Wing Run for a dessert of wings and cheese fries.

Anyone who suggests Right Wing or Wings to Go over Wing Run is probably the same kind of person that would suggest “According to Jim” to you over “The Daily Show”. I have eaten at every restaurant in town that offers wings on the menu, and Wing Run is HANDS DOWN, the absolute best. Any assertion to the contrary is simply wrong. This is not a subjective matter of taste. It is a matter of black and white, up and down, right and wrong. FACT: Wing Run is the best.
How anyone could proclaim that Right Wing is superior truly defies logic. First of all, the make their own “ranch”. It’s just soupy mayo with a ranch packet thrown into the mix. Second, the amount of meat on the wings is nothing compared to Wing Run. Third, the choice of flavors at Right Wing, compared to Wing Run, is like comparing the menu at McDonalds to the menu at The Cheesecake Factory. Not only are there far more choices at Wing Run, but the choices are more interesting, exotic, and most importantly, they all TASTE BETTER.
As for Wings to Go, if you like wings that taste like they were steamed in an old jock strap, go for it. The atmosphere in there sucks too.
Wing Run not only has the absolute best wings in Tulsa, but the best complimentary fries as well. AND they serve draft beer in frosty mugs. AND you can buy bottled beer. AND they have a multitude of HDTVs tuned into sports programming. AND they pipe in classic rock. AND the staff is the most courteous, friendly and fast in the business. The owner, Richard, frequently stops to chat and make friends with customers, both new ones and regulars.
Finally, NEVER trust the opinion of anyone who proclaims that their favorite wings are the “boneless” anything. Boneless wings are for women and children.

Wow… really. I like traditional wings ok, but when I go out to eat I would rather eat. Yes I prefer boneless to wing in. You don’t have to fight to actually eat, you get more for your money, and the taste is overall better.

If by exotic you mean “throw tons of black pepper in there and see how it tastes” then you are correct.
j/k, as mentioned above, I love Wing Run and they are the most unique (at least without inventing countless sauces to cover up the processed meat taste you get at most of the other wing chains). But as far as true traditional buffalo wings go, it’s Right Wing. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
And if you need Ranch for your wings then you’re really no more of an expert on the topic than those who don’t like bones in their wings.

I live near Wing Run and I frequent there because of proximity and the overall flavor. I won’t go so far as to say they are the absolute best… but they are good enough that I’ve recommended them several times. I alternate between their Hotter and Kamikaze sauce with Bleu Cheese. I have yet to try the Right Wing but I will definitely check them out. Wild Wings is another favorite simply because they have the most flavor choices and are open late for those after hour cravings.
The best I’ve tried (and they are no longer around sadly) was Field of Wings.

Wing Run and Right Wing are not owned by the same guy. “Trust me, I would know” Wing Run buffalo sauces are trucked in from the Anchor Bar restaurant of Buffalo, New York. Anchor Bar lays claim to be the first to create Buffalo sauce for wings in 1964.

So hungry and thirsty now. It sounds good i’ll give it a try. I also want to recommend Right Wing. They’re a little light on the sauce so I always ask for extra wet.
