Firehouse Sub’s Italian Sub

April 14th, 2009 by lbanks – Comments (2)

Upon the recommendation of my boss I decided to give Firehouse Subs a shot. I had never heard of it before and its nondescript location next to Gold’s gym had caused me to overlook it in the past. The whole place is decorated in firehouse theme. They give you the option of having your sub ’not involved’ or ’fully involved’. Fully involved includes lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, mustard and a dill spear on the side. The fully involved sub included more condiments than I usually prefer but I was told that I had to try it fully involved. I ordered a fully involved Italian Sub and my guest ordered a fully involved Honey Ham Sub. It was wonderful! The taste sensation that I got from the fully involved sub was fabulous and totally worth the uncertainty I had going in. The manager informed us that they do some sort of steaming to the subs that give them the incredible soft texture. I will definitely be frequenting Firehouse Subs again!

Looks pretty good, and definitely with ‘fully involved’. Perhaps the steaming involves baking the bread, which will give it a crunchier texture, although it sounds like quite the opposite.
