Attention all OU Sooner Football fans- there is a refuge where you can not only watch the game and be surrounded by Sooner fanfare, but you can eat an amazing meal with your entire family. Billy Sims BBQ has a fun menu to choose from including meals like the Bevo Plate (Beef Brisket), Pulled Razorback (Pulled Pork), Arkansas Steak(Bologna), Smoked Jayhawk (Smoked Chicken Breast), and The National Champ (Hot Link).
Their Combo Plates(Choose from Brisket (Chopped or Sliced), Pulled Pork, Bologna, Hot Link, Polish Sausage, Chicken, Turkey or 2 Ribs) are called Sooner Magic, the Option, and the Wishbone. The sides include Mini-Huskers (Smoked Corn on the Cob), Sooner Slaw-ter (Cole Slaw), and Billy Beans.
I had the Bevo Plate with some of Billy’s special BBQ sauce. Holy cow!!!! Or should I say Holy Bevo!!! It was great and filling. I could not help but feel like I was taking out my frustrations of OU’s loss in bowl game on Texas…at least we beat you!!! Now I am eating your mascot!!!! Hahahahaha. Now I am waiting on some combo plate like Mountaineers Massacre or something so I can eat my blues away!!!
I was able to watch OU Football highlights and even Mr. Sims himself came by the table to say hello. I was very happy with the service and atmosphere.
Being a daddy of four, any restaurant that my family and I attend must have a great Kids Menu. Billy Sims BBQ doesn’t let me down. They have some great selections for your kids to choose from.
Got a big OU game coming up on TV and having some friends over? Are you going to be a good host and have some grub? Billy Sims BBQ has some killer Super Paks to feed your tribe. GAME DAY PACK FEEDS 3-4 A pound and a half of meat with your choice of two “Sideliners” (1 pint each) OR TAILGATER PACK FEEDS 6-8 Three and a half pounds of meat with your choice of four “Sideliners” (1 pint each)

IN THE NEWS: BILLY SIMS BBQ OPENING UP TO FRANCHISEES
I was reading today(April 8, 2008) in the Tulsa World Business Section Front page a headline “FRANCHISES ON BILLY SIMS BBQ MENU”. So now the people behind the restaurant are wanting to conquer the Restaurant world the way the Sooners conquer the Big 12 conference. Owner Jeff Johnson said he wants to take over the OU state. I for one believe that he can do it! Go Sooners!!! Go Billy…run, run, run all the way to paydirt !!!!!

I have to totally disagree with you. Billy Sims is some of the worst Bar-B-Que I have had in quite some time.

Great Bar-B-Q. I am sure Nick likes his Bar-B-Q full of liquid smoke flavor, so he doesn’t know what really good old fashioned Bar-B-Q flavor is. Thank you Billy Sims for your great natural flavored food. It’s the best!

This BBQ was the worst. For several years I have wanted to try Billy Sims BBQ. We ordered a range of food to go for four adults and we are all sitting here disappointed. I would not recommend this place. The meat was dried out and tough, the meat portions were skimpy and bland and the sauce was ordinary. We ordered on a Monday night so we wondered if the food was left over from the weekend and re-heated because of the dryness. The Texas toast was barely toasted and to top it off they forgot to put in our pickles and onions. We ordered several sides and they seemed canned or made off site with one exception. They have great cole slaw.

Too bad Linda had a bad experience, the menu says to let the Manager know so they can make it right, I would not hesitate to do that if I were her. We live in Norman and have been to the Billy Sims BBQ here in norman frequently with very good to excellent results every time. I have arrived at the Heisman sandwich with the pulled pork option as my favorite (even though I’m usually a ribs only guy and scoff at “sandwiches”). It is really a winner. Throw in some Billy Beans and I like to add both sweet and hot bbq sauce to the beans and the sandwich. Soooo good and fills me up plus! MMMMMMMMmmmmmmm. I’m hungry!!
