My mom is Ms. Crafter. I grew up with this former PTA parent/Campfire Leader/Child development teacher and we always had homemade everything. In her retirement she hand makes cards for the troops, her church, scrapbooks…it’s a sickness. She’s fantastic. One thing we started when my kids were small was making gingerbread houses. We LOVE this and do it every year. My kids are 20 and 15 now and we still get with Grammy to make these fun little houses each year.

Target sells gingerbread house kits for $8. We bought the village this year. With some added candies, gummy figurines, glitter (it’s the best), coconut for snow, the kit is easy and fun, fun, fun! Don’t forget to get some ice cream cones to make trees. Williams-Sonoma has the gingerbread molds to make your own but the kits are so much easier.
So start a new tradition. Make a gingerbread house or village with your kids.

Nice article and that lady sounds like someone I know. That is a great tradition.
