October 4th, 2009 by Staff – Comments (2)

Looking for a good little snack in between your meals at the Tulsa State Fair? Here is a delightful little salty sweet snack for you to try. Located in the big white tent to the east of the Quick Trip Center is the Nutty Guy serving up a bacon lovers dream. This is also the best spot to get some amazing candied nuts that are made right there on the spot.

If you get a chance to try some of the Chocolate Covered Bacon let us know what you think!

I tired the chocolate covered bacon from this vendor as well. I love this idea in theory but Blech! I got a mouthful of cold chewy bacon fat and some chocolate. I almost gagged, couldn’t swallow and had to get rid of it. I think the bacon needs to be crispy for this to live up to it’s potential.

P.S. The bacon booth is very close to the Konad Booth. If any of you ladies like nail polish you MUST go to this booth. You can’t get this stuff in town.

I searched for a long time for this thinknig it would be a typical vendor, then stumbled across it at random. I LOVE bacon and have always followed the theory that bacon makes anything better. However, it was kind of “Meh.” As April said I think it would be much better if the bacon were crispy cooked bacon instead of obvious soft precooked bacon which is saying something since I normally don’t like crunchy bacon. You dont even really taste the bacon over the chocolate until you get to the end were the bacon is exposed and then them both being soft it is jsut kind of a dissappointment. This could be really good if they would take the time to cook the bacon themselves, let it cool or get cold, then dip it in chocolate.
