Who-oo..Who-oo..In case you don’t speak owl, that means exceptionally good!
Spontaneous evenings are the best! Both of us were tired and didn’t feel like cooking dinner. We decided to drive down to The Full Moon restaurant on 15th street. Thursdays they have $3 hamburgers! You can’t beat that at a sit down restaurant! When we got there, the outdoor seating was overflowing into the parking lot! I think everyone had smelled a great deal from miles away and decided to come to the same place for dinner that night! We decided after finding a place to park, that we would walk the strip until we found a place that looked good and had a good atmosphere
The White Owl Pub & Restaurant was our first and only stop! After all of the good news I have heard about this place, we had to give it a try! It was also very busy, but we were immediately seated. After ordering our drinks, we decided to check this place out. The stairs led to another two full rooms of seating with a game room connecting them. I was so impressed how much room was in this venue! One of the rooms upstairs could be used for a birthday party, private meeting, or other function. After scoping out this little treasure on Peoria St., we ordered an the best appetizer I have ever tasted! Fresh zucchini wrapped in a thick, flavorful batter was like heaven in my mouth! The vegetable had been cut in 3 1/2″ strips, and then deep fried to a golden crisp and dipped in house made ranch. Ahhh….the best thing I had ordered in a long time! For dinner I ordered a Grilled Panini made with grilled zucchini, mozzarella, and house made pesto. It was such a beautiful assortment of flavors all blended and baked together inside two slices of Ciabatta bread and served with homemade thick-n-crispy French fries. My friend ordered the fish and chips which came out illuminating a beautiful light brown color and a crispy outer layer of tasty goodness! He said that they weren’t the best he’s had, but definitely good enough to order again.
Our waitress was so attentive and had such a good attitude.
The environment was great for a fun-loving crowd, and is a good hang-out place after a long day at work. Next time I will bring a group of friends!
