The Weekly Feed – The “I’m So Broke!” Edition

By on January 11, 2017

Barely through the second week of the new year, most of our bank accounts are looking less jubilant than they did just a month ago; but we still must eat. This week, we’ve put together a few local restaurants that are helping out our pocket books by feeding us splendid food at a great price. Many of these are specials are offered only on specific days, at specific times (usually in the evening). But the smart foodie knows at any given day or time the best place to go for the cheapest, most delicious food. TulsaFood is here for you, helping you to eat well and often!

2708 E. 15th St.

On Tuesdays, you can’t beat a 16-inch two-topping pizza or 12-inch gourmet pizza $10.99 from one of our favorite places for a slice, Pie Hole Pizzeria. Add some spinach on there and it’s practically health food! #newyearnewme2017

1616 S. Utica Ave.

The swanky interior of ROKA matches the quality of their Monday $5 Burger special. The meat is ground in house, but then it has Asian-inspired accouterments, like an kung pao sauce, red peppers and mushrooms. Now that is how you improve a Monday!

109 N. Detroit Ave.

The Rusty Crane knows how to make you feel good while making feel-good food, so of course they’d have some specials to help out us workin’ stiffs. On Mondays starting at 4 p.m., five buckeroos will get your a Beef Taco Plate, a Roasted Pork Taco Plate, or Chips and Queso. Tuesdays are often like Monday: Part II, so The Crane has a good old fashioned Chicken Fried Chicken Dinner for only $10 to soothe your soul.

110 N. Boulder Ave.

We all need a little vacation of the mind, and on Tuesday evenings, our friends at Sisserou’s are taking an island twist on an Okie favorite. For only $12 you can order up their Fried Jerk Chicken starting at 6 p.m. This Caribbean comfort dish is served with their signature house made oxtail gravy, the chef’s buttermilk biscuit, and Sisserou’s classic street corn.  #treatyoself

On Cherry Street, SMOKE. is serving up some killer daily specials that’ll help you get through the week. First, their $5 Cheeseburger and Fries special is legendary. They start the special at 4 p.m., but usually run out before 7 p.m., so plan accordingly. If a slab of Prime Rib is what you’ve got a hankering for, then Wednesdays starting at 5 p.m., $25 will get you a 12-ounce and $32 will get you 16 ounces of beefy goodness. On Sundays, you cannot beat their $18 12-ounce N.Y. Strip Steak, 4 p.m. to close.
