The Best Chinese Food in Tulsa
Reviewed by: Jimby

Chopsticks is clearly the best Chinese restaurant in Tulsa. Anyone
who has tried the various options in Tulsa knows that there aren’t
many good Chinese restaurants here. In fact, in Tulsa, Chinese food
seems to equal unappetizing lunch buffets. Not at Chopsticks.
The food is fresh. There is no buffet. There is no MSG. The
owner and chefs are immigrants from China. If you want Chinese
food in Tulsa, Chopsticks is definitely the best option.

Good Americanized Chinese food or good Chinese food? Have you not tried Great Wall at 71st/Yale?

I definately second Great Wall. It’s awesome- both the mongolian bbq and the menu items are delicious. Check it out if you haven’t yet. It’s in the shopping center with the lighthouse.

The best Chinese food is not in Tulsa but in Owasso. The Oriental Pearl in Owasso has a great buffet and a mongolian bbq. The restaurant is always clean and the food fresh. Definitely the best Chinese in the Tulsa area.

Well my friends and I tried Chopsticks today based off the inital review posted here.

To my delight the food was great! I went for lunch with 2 others and we each had a lunch combo. They come with soup (egg drop or hot & sour), rice (steamed or fried), and an eggroll. You can also sub an extra eggroll instead of either soup. Most lunch meals were $6.95-8.95.
We ordered Egg Foo Young, Sesame Chicken, & Pepper Beef. Each main dish was very well prepared, but my favorite was probably Egg Foo Young. We also split an order of the Cheese Wontons…in a word these were fabulous. The cheese wasn’t skimpy, or dried up like some resturants, it was very smooth. In fact I could have eaten an order of those and a bowl of the egg drop soup for lunch and been very happy!

    We’ll definitely be going back!

Their phone # is 918-488-0266 My family and I have been going to Chopsticks for several years and have never had anything less than excellent food. It tops all others in quality and service. The owner even knows my children by name.

I noticed Chopsticks had placed an ad in the Tulsa World Weekend (Spot) for 1/2 priced chicken lomein and chicken fried rice 7/22 – 7/25.

Tried it for the first time today and the food was excellent. I will definitely be returning to try some other dishes.

BTW-chicken lomein with steamed rice and I added two egg rolls for about $3.50. Great Deal!

The title is out of date. The best Chinese food in Tulsa can be found at these places, and happily the Tulsa Food Blog has an incredibly well-written review of each of them!

Chopsticks is good. I go there for lunch with coworkers fairly regularly and everyone has a good experience. Sometimes service can be slow, though.

Great Wall at 71st & Yale has a good Mongolian grill, but the menu entrees are lacking. I had an awful Ma-Po Tofu that was basically cubes of tofu with frozen peas and carrots. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Sadly enough, I haven’t found a good authentic Chinese restaurant in Tulsa. Not even Guang Zhou and Asian Cuisine are all that great. Most of them, even if owned by Chinese, don’t serve good quality food. I doubt they eat the food they serve in their restaurants at home. I’d be very surprised. I actually prefer to go to Ghengis Grill or Pei Wei because even if it’s Americanized, at least the ingredients are fresh and the flavors are spot on.

Too much zuchini in the dish above. Squash is a cheap veggie ingredient that goes a long way for its weight. If a restaurant uses a lot of it, they are saving the cost of more expensive ingredients like mushrooms, broccoli and asian cabbage, for a few examples.

Have you tried the Golden Gate at about 26th and Harvard?? Our family loves it…

-Golden Gate is a guilty pleasure. It is close, and for the most part the food is decent. However, for a ‘foodie’, i recommend the hot ‘n sour soup. Made from scratch, the owners got this one as right as it’s going to get in true Midtown Tulsa.

The owners are very gracious and cordial to everyone, new and returning. Give it a go.
